Learning Opportunities Fund (LOF)
The Local negotiated a fund, administered by SFU, to enable employees to access Job Related courses (courses, seminars, workshops or conferences) that will enhance each employee’s performance and develop her/his skills and abilities.

LETTER OF INTENT

The University shall provide $75,000 (non-recurring) for the Learning Opportunities Fund (LOF) for CUPE Local 3338 staff. The amount shall be allocated with $37,500 fiscal year 2005-2006 and $37,500 fiscal year 2006-2007. Nothing will preclude the University from increasing the annual allocated amount at a later date. Any claim between January 4, 2005, and March 31, 2005, will be considered part of fiscal year 2005-2006. The Executive Director, Human Resources & Safety agrees to pursue permanent recurring funding for the LOF.
On March 31, 2006, and annually thereafter, the parties shall meet to review and assess the LOF, in particular to identify any barriers that may be preventing employees from availing themselves of opportunities under the LOF and to identify measures that would make the program more accessible and beneficial to all eligible employees.
